LinkedIn Photo Size and Tips for Taking a Great Image

LinkedIn Photo Size

First things first. LinkedIn photo size dimensions are 200 x 200 pixels in size, but this does not mean that your LinkedIn photo size must be 200 x 200! Upon uploading your image you will be able to crop the image to suite. For more details and tips see bellow.

Uploading a photo to your LinkedIn profile is extremely important. People want to know with whom they are dealing with, simply not having one or using your local football club logo is not sufficient. It looks as though you are trying to hide something.

This guide is split into two sections. The first on how to upload an image to LinkedIn and the second how to take the perfect photo

Tips for Taking the Perfect Profile Photo

  • Look smart and dress as though you were going for a job interview in your industry. I say this because where a suit and tie might be standard for a corporate role it may not be suitable for a personal trainer.
  • Don’t use full body shots. Mid-section or shoulders up is fine.
  • Don’t have other people in the photo.  This includes your friend’s arms around your neck!
  • Make sure there is adequate lighting.
  • Smile! You’re on camera.

Uploading your Profile Image to LinkedIn

Step 1: Log into your LinkedIn Account, hover your curser over the profile tab and select ‘Edit Profile’ from the drop down menu.

Step 2: Click the ‘Chose File’ button to select a photo from your hard-disk, locate the file and confirm. Finally click the ‘Upload Photo’ button.
